Panasonic’s new time off policies have adversely affected too many dedicated employees for circumstances outside our control. We take great pride in the work we do to make Panasonic a leader in the battery industry and we know we can do better.
After coming together to voice our concerns, we’ve already won initial improvements to the time off policies. But there’s still much more to do. That’s why we are urging Panasonic to:
- Stop issuing write-ups for legitimate, unavoidable situations such as illness, family emergencies, or major traffic incidents.
- Increase our Unplanned Time Off (UTO) and provide it at the start of each year.
- Offer more flexibility with Vacation Time Off (VTO) and increase Parental Leave. Address unfair denials of time off requests by supervisors.
- Restore the perfect attendance bonus to reward employees for our consistent commitment.
We believe these improvements would boost morale and help ensure that employees remain motivated to deliver the high-quality product that drives Panasonic’s success. We look forward to working together to build a sustainable workplace for all Panasonic workers.
