  • Join your fellow Penn grad workers in demanding the University agree to a contract protecting us against discrimination, harassment, and abusive conduct

  • A supermajority of graduate workers at Penn have come together to form our union, GETUP-UAW so that we can win a fair contract that meaningfully improves our lives and secures us the essential rights and protections we need to do the crucial work that enables the University to fulfill its research and teaching mission. One of these essential rights is a right to a workplace that is free from discrimination, harassment, and abusive conduct – our proposed article with this title seeks to ensure that all graduate workers have this right.

Sign your name to the petition to Provost Jackson demanding that the University agree to a contract containing the following:

    • Protections against discrimination, harassment, and abusive conduct enforceable through a grievance and arbitration process.
    • Rights and protections against discrimination for an adequate, expanded list of protected groups, including on the basis of nationality, immigration status, gender expression, and specifically a right to bathroom equity.
    • The University shall not unilaterally change its policies affecting graduate workers’ rights and protections from discrimination, harassment, and abusive conduct that are enshrined in our collective bargaining agreement.

The petition will be delivered to Provost Jackson. You can read the full petition here.

  • I join my coworkers in publicly demanding enforceable protections against discrimination, harassment, and abusive conduct as outlined in this letter.
