As part of the union, I would like to negotiate a contract with NYFA that (check all that apply):
Institutes meaningful, scheduled salary and pay increases that keep pace with the cost of housing, transportation and childcare
Institutes and extends benefits to all employees including, but not limited to, healthcare and matching 401k
Strengthens protections against harassment and discrimination
Institutes fair and flexible course scheduling including but not limited to: reasonable notification and compensation for canceled classes; reasonable turn-around time between classes/shifts; flexibility for scheduling requests, avoiding over- and under-scheduled work days and weeks
Safeguards against exploitation and overwork by ensuring that all labor (curricular, extracurricular, administrative, technical, etc.) is fairly compensated
